About the model

GPT Image 2 is OpenAI's newest image generation model. It understands complex natural-language instructions, including Russian, and accurately reproduces Cyrillic text directly in images — a task most competitors struggle with.

quality × size: three levels of detail (low, medium, high) combined with three resolutions (1K, 2K, 4K) give nine combinations — from fast prototyping at minimal cost to final 4K renders for print and publishing. Ten frame formats are supported: 1:1, 16:9, 9:16, 4:3, 3:4, 3:2, 2:3, 4:5, 5:4, 21:9.

The Image-to-Image edit mode accepts up to 16 source images and changes exactly what you ask, without touching faces, lighting, or background. Great for iterative work: upload several references, describe the changes in plain language — the model will understand. Excellent at surgical detail swaps, outfit changes, background swaps, and adding Cyrillic captions on existing photos.

Light version is the same model at high-quality, running at 1K resolution, but with a fixed configuration and a fixed price. No quality compromises: the image is equivalent to the standard version in High 1K mode — just without parameter selection. Supports 6 frame formats (1:1, 16:9, 9:16, 3:2, 2:3, 21:9 ultrawide). Pick Light when you need speed and a predictable price; pick Standard when you need control over resolution, output above 1K, or the budget Low mode for drafts.

Key features

Russian and Cyrillic text

Understands prompts in Russian and accurately renders Cyrillic text in images — logos, signs, headlines, post captions.

Precise editing

Image-to-Image changes only what's requested — preserves faces, lighting, and background. Accepts up to 16 reference images at once.

10 formats in Standard

1:1, 16:9, 9:16, 4:3, 3:4, 3:2, 2:3, 4:5, 5:4, 21:9 — all popular formats for social media, banners, print, and web graphics.

Resolutions up to 4K

1K for quick sketches and social posts, 2K — a balanced workhorse mode, 4K — for print and professional materials.

Three quality levels

Low — for experiments and drafts, Medium — the workhorse for most tasks, High — maximum detail for finals.

World knowledge

Trained on a vast dataset — accurately reproduces styles, architecture, and objects with real-world context.

Frequently asked questions

What is GPT Image 2 and how does it differ from GPT Image 1.5?+
GPT Image 2 is OpenAI's next-generation image generation model. Compared to GPT Image 1.5, the quality × size matrix expanded: three quality levels (low, medium, high) × three resolutions (1K, 2K, 4K) — nine combinations instead of two. Added two new aspect ratios (3:2 and 2:3); Cyrillic rendering improved.
How does the standard version differ from Light?+
The standard version is flexible: you choose quality (low/medium/high) and resolution (1K/2K/4K), 10 aspect ratios. Light is the same model in a fixed High-quality 1K configuration at a flat rate, 6 aspect ratios. Image quality is equivalent to the standard High 1K mode — the only difference is the absence of parameter choice and the predictable flat price.
How much does generation cost?+
Standard T2I: from — to — depending on quality and resolution. Standard Edit: from — to —. Light and Light Edit — fixed price — per generation. Prices are updated dynamically on the page.
Can Russian text be rendered in an image?+
Yes, that's one of GPT Image 2's strengths. The model renders Cyrillic text well — logos, signs, captions, headlines on posters. For clean results, use CAPS or quotes in the prompt and specify position and style ("centered at the bottom, white bold sans-serif").
How many reference images can I upload in Edit mode?+
Up to 16 source images for both the standard Edit and Light Edit. The model considers reference composition and style, modifying only what the prompt explicitly requests while preserving faces, lighting, and backgrounds.
How do I choose between Low / Medium / High?+
Low — for experiments, sketches, and rapid ideation (minimum price). Medium — the workhorse for most tasks: social posts, covers, ad visuals. High — maximum detail for final renders: print, polygraphy, professional materials.
How long are generated images stored?+
All generated images are stored for 30 days after creation, then automatically deleted. We recommend downloading the final images right after generation.
