The latest OpenAI generation: natural lighting, rich textures and flawless on-image text, Cyrillic included. Generation and editing in a single form, with two modes to choose from — Sunburst for quality and Flare for speed. Go to Gallery
GPT Image 2.5 is the latest generation of the OpenAI image model. It understands complex natural-language instructions in any language and reproduces text accurately right on the image, Cyrillic included — something most competitors still struggle with.
Compared with the previous generation, lighting is noticeably more natural and textures are richer, complex layouts come together more neatly, and transparent backgrounds are cleaner. When editing, the model holds the original subject better: the face, pose and proportions no longer drift from iteration to iteration.
One form instead of four: there is no generation-or-editing mode to pick. While there are no references, the model draws from scratch. Upload a photo and it switches to editing, changing only what you described. It accepts up to 16 source images.
Twelve aspect ratios: 1:1, 3:2, 2:3, 4:3, 3:4, 16:9, 9:16, 21:9, 27:16, 16:27, 9:8 and 8:9 — from square avatars to ultra-wide banners. Every ratio is available at 1K, 2K and 4K with no restrictions on the combination.
Understands prompts in any language and renders text accurately on the image — logos, signs, headlines, post captions.
Changes only what you asked for and holds the original subject: face, pose and proportions stay the same even after several iterations. Up to 16 references.
From 1:1 and 9:16 to the ultra-wide 21:9 and 27:16 — every popular ratio for social media, banners, print and web graphics.
1K for quick sketches and social media, 2K as the balanced working mode, 4K for print and professional materials.
Natural lighting and rich materials, neat complex layouts and clean transparent backgrounds — a clear step up from the previous generation.
Sunburst — maximum quality and editing precision. Flare — the same, roughly twice as fast. The switch sits right in the generation form.
Top image quality and the highest editing precision. Pick it for final renders, print and delicate photo edits where every detail counts.
Quality on par with the previous flagship, but results arrive roughly twice as fast. Pick it for social media, prototypes, exploring ideas and any high-volume work.
| Mode | 1K | 2K | 4K |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sunburst | — | — | — |
| Flare | — | — | — |
The price is the same for generation and for editing — it depends only on the mode and the resolution. Uploading references adds nothing to the cost.
| If you need... | Pick |
|---|---|
| A final render for print and publishing | Sunburst, 4K |
| A delicate photo edit that keeps the face and background | Sunburst |
| Exploring ideas and drafts in bulk | Flare, 1K |
| Posts and stories for social media — speed matters | Flare |
| A balance of price, quality and time for everyday work | Either mode, 2K |
| Build a composition from several references | Either mode — just upload up to 16 photos |
Banners, covers and promo materials with readable headlines. Drafts in Flare, the final in Sunburst 4K.
Product visualization, background replacement, packaging branding, detail retouching. Transparent backgrounds come out cleaner than in the previous generation.
Interface layouts, mockups, infographics and illustrations. Complex layouts come together more neatly and text stays readable.
Posts, stories, avatars and channel covers in any of the 12 aspect ratios. Flare is ideal for a steady publishing flow.
